What is the VetMed-FSI?
The Veterinary Medicine Student Representative Group - Veterinärmedizinische Fachschaftsinitiative Berlin, in short VetMed-FSI - is a non-profit student association founded out of the department's former student body government. We currently have about 60 active student members from the different veterinary medicine semesters. Our goal is first and foremost the representation of our veterinary medicine student body at the Free University of Berlin and the liaison between them and the faculty.
Our primary functions include the following:

- Planning and Organisation of internal and external events, as for example:
- Veterinary department open day
- First semester orientation
- Student representation in the veterinary medicine department's teaching committee and faculty council
- Representation and promotion of students' interests
- Creating networking possibilities for our student body
- Student representation as board member of the German federal association of veterinary medicine students (Bundesverband der Veterinärmedizinstudierenden Deutschland e.V. (bvvd))
- Collaboration with the International Veterinary Students' Association (IVSA)
